GSPCA AND LOCAL VETS JOIN FORCES WITH CAT NEUTERING SCHEME FOR MONTH OF JUNE

The GSPCA are delighted to announce that after discussions with local vets, that for the month of June a 10% discount will be offered to owners of pet cats. The GSPCA are inundated with people contacting them, turning up on the doorstep with kittens that we cannot take because we are full. The majority of these kittens are from domestic pets, not strays or feral. So hopefully all cat owners with un-neutered cats will avail of this offer for the month of June.

The participating vets are:
Galway city and outskirts - Glenina Vets, Ark Vets, Briarhill Vets, Barna and Moycullen Vets.
Tuam - Tom Rennick.
Gort - Ballyhugh Vets.
Loughrea - Railway Vets.
Athenry - Athenry Pet Clinic.

Any vets in towns not covered in the June run please contact us on 091 563631 or email galwayspca@gmail.com and we will do a July run in your area. We urge all cat owners please be sensible and arrange neutering of your cats, as we sadly will never be able to take in all that is coming our way. We would also like to issue a warning to anyone thinking of dumping kittens that it is against the law and we will follow you if reported to us.

The following photographs are of the cat and kittens recently rescued after they were cruelly abandoned in a cardboard box and left at the roadside overnight. Please contact our Heathlawn sanctuary on 09096-76397 if you can offer a home to these or the many other cats and kittens currently awaiting adoption there. Alternatively have a look at the cats for adoption page.
