WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES WHEN YOU DONATE TO GSPCA

We thought you might like to know just where the money goes when you donate to us.
As you maybe aware our building fund, where some of the donated money goes, has been used to put a new floor in the isolation unit and cattery and paint for the cattery. More goes to building the nest egg for our new kennels and cattery. More goes into looking after the welfare of animals who need special treatment like Zoë and Hesky. More goes to help the 150 horses we investigated over the winter, some we are still feeding and are under observation. We have also trapped, neutered and returned over 160 feral cats since last September.

Special Appeal for Zoë and Hesky
zoe As mentioned above Zoë came to us with a triple fracture, either from being kicked or hit by a car, and by the time we got her this was an old wound of anything up to two weeks. Luckily she was able to be operated on and will in time make a full or as near a full recovery.
hesky Hesky we discovered suffers from seizures and had to go to the Veterinary College in Dublin and he will need a scan which costs around €1,000, and a lumber puncture which costs around €500. Hopefully when all this is done we will know what the problem is and he will get the medication he needs to improve his quality of life.

I'm sure some people will say 'waste of money', but we totally disagree. All our animals deserve the best we can give them and this we do regardless of cost. We do not put a price on their heads, if something can be done it will be done. All animals in our care are vaccinated, neutered and wormed.

On average it costs €25,000 a month to run the organisation, included in this are vet bills, food, electricity, phones, van and rent to list but a few. When you donate to us all the money goes directly to the animals. Our committee are voluntary and work for the organisation at their own expense. We invest in our animals and sanctuary, not in bonds and shares.

We hope this helps in knowing what what we do.
