Abby lived with GSPCA for nearly 2 years after being rescued by our field inspector. So ill was Abby with cat flu that we thought she would not make it, but no one realised what a little fighter she was. She recovered but lost her eyes. She soon became the boss of the cattery and loved having the kittens around her which she took under her wing. She loved playing ball with them and her abilities astounded us, but then nobody told Abby she was blind. She would fly up and down the cattery chasing her ball and playing tag with the kits.
A few weeks ago Lisa called into the cattery and fell in love with Abby as did Ivan her hubby. What made this extra special for us was that when we first started out in St Mary's Rd, Lisa while still going to school, was a volunteer with us and spent many the night with our cats and dogs there.
Abby has happily settled in with Lisa and Ivan and like in the cattery she now is the 'boss '. She for the first time has experienced grass, the wind in her face and rain. She loves the garden and her sun spot where she happily suntans each day. We all miss her and even now when we come into the cattery we still look for her but we are so happy that she has got her special home with two very special people or as Abby say's 'my slaves'. |
