Hello everyone at the Galway SPCA.
I have adopted two dogs from Heathlawn sanctuary in the past few years and finally decided to let you know how they are getting on and to send some photos. Big thank you for everyone doing a great job at Galway SPCA, I would have not been able to adopt better dogs than I have.
I adopted my first little Jack Russell Venla in May 2009. She was a very timid little creature, who was terrified of been taken out on walks but over time has settled in on city life well. She has always loved people and especially kids, and now is the joy of the children on our estate. Venla suffers from "selective hearing" and want all the things done her way but other than that is a great happy little dog.
On December 2010 I adopted my second jack Russell Vuppe (previously named Fergus). Fergus had spent quite a few months at the sanctuary and was very grateful of finally finding he's own home. He settled in immediately without any drama and actually listens to me much better than Venla does. He is always happy, nothing can bring him down and he must be the easiest dog I have ever owned. Vuppe has also calmed Venla down a lot now when she has company while I'm at day work.
My time in Ireland is coming to an end soon, as I am planning to move back to Finland in June. My dogs will have the unpleasant experience of flying there, but luckily as I am flying from France I am allowed to bring them to the cabin with me. The unpleasant trip will be worth it as at the end of it they will be able to enjoy the Finnish countryside and wildlife. We enjoy sunbaking and swimming so are looking forward to Finnish summer. I think we'll adapt to Finnish lifestyle very easily, my dogs have always been multilingual, so language should not be a problem. :)
Once again, thank you so much. My dogs are bringing me so much joy everyday
